Roberto Jose Coquis
Roberto Jose′ Coquis has over 15 years experience working in the political arena, the Federal government and the sports industry. He currently runs a website that highlight the intersection “Sports ‘n’ Politics” (www.sportsnpolitics.com).
Throughout Roberto’s career he has worked on four (4) Presidential Campaigns, including the Treasury Department of Bush-Cheney 2000 and more recently as the Chief Operating Officer for Newt 2012. He also worked on the Dole-Kemp presidential campaign and served in the Congressional offices of Congressmen Clay Shaw (FL) and Bill Redmond (NM).
In 2001, Roberto began an eight-year tenure working for the Federal government as a political appointee in the Administration of President George W. Bush. During President Bush’s second term, he served as the Director for Management Support in the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) of the U.S. Department of State. Prior to this role, he served as a Senior Advisor for the National Capital Region Office of the General Services Administration (GSA), the White House Liaison at the Peace Corps, and as the Finance Advisor to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) in Iraq.
Roberto has been At-Large Member of the D.C. Republican Party since 2000. He has a Bachelor degree in International Studies from American University, and recently earned a Masters degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University.
